It would appear that with alarming regularity our whole year has gone 'crazy'. Our summer time camps involve wind, rain and freezing cold weather and our winter camp always has fantastic sun for the time of year!
And so it was in the winter of 2008 the Scouts departed Bristol shores for sunny climes, the forests of Huish Woods Scout Campsite, near Taunton, Somerset.
Friday night was late, Saturday was early. The following activities proved almost popular, mountain biking, potholing (lovely stagnant water in that one... did the Scout leader ever get out!? next group to use it might have a surprise...), climbing and abseiling and the good old zip wire.
the spuds on Saturday night took rather longer than expected, but were still eaten quite happily none the less. The late night wide game resulted in a wet foot for one Scout, whom decided to place his foot into a foot-deep trough of water, quite how or why no-one knows, but it will bring smiles for years to come!

To continue a conversation I had with some Scouts late Saturday night, here's one for you:
A man lives on the tenth floor of a building. Every day, he takes the elevator to the first floor to go to work or to go shopping. When he returns, he always takes the elevator to the seventh floor and then walks the remaining flights of stairs to his apartment on the tenth floor. Why does he do this? Answers in the Guestbook please!! |
Cannot comment on Sunday as I wasn't there, but the reports I've heard are good! Someone will need to fill us in...
