Jersey 2007 - Photo Page 1
Wednesday 22nd August
Departure from Bristol International Airport very early in the morning....
Excellent views from the plane over the southwest of England and Jersey itself (rather small isn't it...). Upon debarking the plane the stewardesses make a very complementary comment towards the Scouts, funny that I thought we were the only ones on the plane...
Weather in Bristol was glorious, arriving in Jersey it was, well, awful - windy and cold with threat of rain, which it did later in the afternoon in biblical proportions. Here we go another typical 62nd camp...
Thursday 23rd August
Explore St Helier, walk to Le Corbiere Lighthouse
The weather continued it's miserable theme in the morning and a decision was made to visit St Helier today instead of tomorrow. Anita and Ayesha also arrived at the airport, we were now upto full quota...
Parking in St Helier is worse than Tesco Value corn flakes for breakfast. However, when Lee and I were negotiating their compicated system a complete but entirely nice stranger appeared from no where to explain how it all worked and also offered us some free parking cards. It worked out he had spotted our minibus (which was to become famous) and was a cub leader from elsewhere on the Island. Very nice these Jersey people...
Le Corbiere lighthouse was stunning, the ice creams weren't bad either... We even had a little paddle...
Congratulations to Charlie and Izzy for their excellent t-shirt design:
T-Shirt front design - by Charlie who didn't even go!!
T-Shirt rear design - by Izzy who did go!
Apologies to Anita and Ayesha who were missed off the final design!!
Is that sir David Attenborough in the background!?
Hmmm, what shall I have for breakfast?
Who'd have thought that 62nd could have so many good pianists...
All Scouts helped cook and wash up meals...
Just don't damage the floor!!!
No contest - the leader will win everytime (that's why he's the leader)
For some reason we could not master this but the Scouts found it easy...
Begging for a caption this one, sadly my creative juices are lacking...
