London 2006 - Day 3 & 4 |
A truly frightening day...
We started early at the London Dungeon, where we managed to successfully scare 16 Scouts totally out of their wits. (16 because some will claim they were not scared at all, however we know different...)
Even the leaders did not escape, Dan got tortured, Clive got shaved by Sweeney Todd, Daisy's arms got longer and Dave got accused of wearing a silly hat.
A peaceful lunch was next to HMS Belfast firing large guns over ours heads. This was followed by photo opportunities by the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, a short stroll along the Thames under London Bridge ended in a Tube ride to Ironmonger Row Baths.
Ironmonger Row Baths claimed to be the 8th best public Swimming Pool in the world...
...we'd hate to see the worst. Either that or they only looked at 8 in the first place. Anyway, the staff were first rate and the place certainly had character. Oh and it got the Scouts clean, despite the pool being minus something (a certain Scout leader chickened out at this point)...
After an exclusive evening meal at McDonalds we headed for the Royal Exchange where we planned to meet our Ghost walk guide. A ghost walk on a lovely sunny evening was never going to be that scary (not on London Dungeon ratings anyway). However, the stories were enjoyed by all and picked to pieces in BP House aftterwards. Discovering the back lanes around by the Bank of England was also a bonus.
Guess what the leaders got upto at the Science Museum?
